Freddie Black | SIMMONS FIRST NATIONAL BANK
Last week, the Brandon Burlsworth Foundation bestowed its Legends Award on Chief Community Banking Officer Freddie Black, honoring his “significant positive impact” on the state of Arkansas. Freddie was joined by family, friends, community partners and numerous Simmons Bank team members as he accepted the award and raised funds for low-income children!
This recognition is especially meaningful because of its ties to Brandon Burlsworth, an Arkansas Razorback football player whose unremarkable start as a walk-on culminated in a stunning turnabout as Brandon went on to become an All-American – and one of the most respected players in history. Brandon’s tragic death in a car accident precipitated his larger-than-life legacy of character, compassion and a can-do spirit. The Brandon Burlsworth Foundation was established by his family following his passing to provide opportunities for underprivileged children.
We couldn’t be prouder of the ways that Freddie champions the same values Brandon did every day of his life. Congratulations!
