With the “You Drink. You Drive. You Lose.” campaign just completed, the Arkansas City Police Department conducted overtime saturation patrols to aggressively enforce Kansas impaired driving laws. During the campaign, officers wrote (3) safety belt citations, (17) speeding citations, and (27) other citations and arrests. (32) vehicle stops were made during the campaign.
According to Police Chief Eric Burr, if you were stopped you hopefully learned from your experience. You can count on this department to vigorously enforce impaired driving and other traffic laws, not just during this enforcement campaign but all through the year. We enforce traffic laws because those laws help everyone that we share the road with.
We will continue to do so because, while the You Drink. You Drive. You Lose. campaign may be over; removing impaired drivers from our roads will continue.
The You Drink. You Drive. You Lose. campaign was sponsored by the Kansas Department of Transportation.
