University of Arkansas Monticello Athletics issued the following announcement on May 1.
Arkansas-Monticello fell to the Southwestern Oklahoma State University Bulldogs to close out their final GAC series of the 2022 softball season.
The Blossoms were only able to put up 8 runs in comparison to SWOSU's 9, losing the match in 7 innings.
UAM was the first team on the board as Maddie Pfleging scored on a Caroline Tedder ground ball.
Southwestern Oklahoma pulled into a dominant 8-1 lead as they responded with 4 runs in the bottom of the first inning and found 4 more runs in the third.
The Blossoms weren't finished yet, as they shortened the SWOSU lead to 8-4 after scoring 3 in the fifth. Hannah Holdbrook singled to center field to bring home Grace Neal and Caroline Tedder doubled to right, scoring both Holdbrook and Cornell.
Caroline Tedder launched a grand slam over the center field wall in the seventh to tie the game at 8, bringing home Holdbrook, Chalenburg, and Pfleging with her.
Unfortunately, the Bulldogs would win the game in the bottom half of the inning with a walk off single.
