Arkansas City issued the following announcement on Feb. 24.
On Thursday, a second round of winter precipitation will affect the Arkansas City area, according to US National Weather Service Wichita Kansas. Light snow is expected to fall across central and south-central Kansas, with amounts ranging from a light dusting to less than 1 inch. A snow-sleet mix is expected across southeast Kansas, with new additional accumulations around 1 inch possible.
Bitterly cold wind chills will affect central and south-central Kansas through the morning hours today and Thursday. Be sure to wear extra layers of clothing for protection from the bitter cold. Please check later forecasts and winter weather advisory for more details!
