Arkansas City issued the following announcement Jan. 28.
We want to hear from you! Please consider attending this special "visioning session" from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5 at Burford Theatre Arts in downtown Arkansas City. Participants will brainstorm ways we can revitalize and re-imagine our historic downtown in conjunction with new programs like Main Street and the Rural Housing Incentive District. This forum will be facilitated by students from Kansas State University and South Dakota State University. It is being sponsored by the City, the Arkansas City Area Chamber of Commerce and Cowley First.
We want to hear YOUR ideas for revitalizing downtown Arkansas City. This community input session will be led by K-State and SDSU students, with small group breakout sessions starting at 11 a.m. Groups will reconvene for a close-out session from noon to 12:30 p.m.
