Simmons First National Bank issued the following announcement Nov. 4.

Simmons Bank (Simmons) announced the hiring of Chris Ewing as the senior vice president and director of Consumer Finance Solutions. Ewing oversees the management and strategy of consumer products including loans, credit cards and merchant services. Ewing began Oct. 12 and offices out of Little Rock.

“Chris Ewing is a veteran banker with the experience to lead our associates amid a rapidly evolving financial landscape,” said Joe DiNicolantonio, executive vice president and head of Consumer and Business Banking. “His knowledge and track record will help guide our efforts as we continue to build a sustainable approach to meet our customers’ needs at each stage of life.”

With more than 20 years of banking and financial services experience, Ewing most recently served as senior vice president and Technology Merger Integration Director at a bank in Charlotte, North Carolina. In this role, Ewing successfully integrated the technological infrastructure for the merger of two regional banks. Prior to that, he held numerous business, risk management and corporate strategy leadership roles at regional and national banks.

Ewing is an alumnus of the United States Military Academy at West Point and served as company commander for the 1st Aviation Brigade and as a scout platoon leader and support platoon leader, HHC, in the 6th Cavalry Brigade for the United States Army. In addition to multiple awards and qualifications, he is the recipient of the United States Army Meritorious Service Medal awarded for conspicuous leadership and ability.
