Arkansas City issued the following announcement on Sept. 17.
Please be aware the northbound lanes of U.S. 77 are blocked currently pending cleanup for an accident at the intersection with the U.S. 77 bypass, just north of Arkansas City.
Northbound traffic on North Summit Street is being diverted west by Ark City Emergency Management onto West Skyline Road.
Northbound traffic on the U.S. 77 bypass is being diverted north onto U.S. 77, while southbound U.S. 77 traffic from Winfield is being diverted south into Arkansas City on North Summit Street.
The Cowley County Sheriff's Office, Arkansas City Fire-EMS Department and Cowley County Road & Bridge are all on scene.
