Jefferson County ranked ninth in Arkansas for resident earnings in 2018

Jefferson County ranked ninth among counties in Arkansas by annual earnings per resident, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The median income of Jefferson County residents was $22,972 per year, adjusted for inflation. It had 26,977 households with a population of 70,424.

The county with the highest median resident income in the state was Benton County with $32,305 per year after adjusting for inflation – $9,333 more than Jefferson County. It had 94,333 households with a population of 258,980.

The county with the lowest median resident income in the state was St. Francis County with $19,056 per year after adjusting for inflation – $3,916 less than Jefferson County. It had 9,319 households with a population of 26,294.
