Cost of college went up for all students at Phillips Community College of the University of Arkansas

In-state tuition and fees rose 3.8 percent for 2018-19 at Phillips Community College of the University of Arkansas, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Arkansas residents paid $3,320 to attend the two-year public institution this year – $120 more than the $3,200 charged for 2017-18.

Non-residents paid 43.4 percent more than residents this year, or $4,760. Their price tag grew 3.3 percent from $4,610 in 2017-18.

About 99 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Arkansas residents. And about 1 percent are residents of other states.

Data shows 93 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 107 students received grants or scholarships totaling $573,405.

Including all undergraduates (1,520), 772 students used grants or scholarships totaling $3 million.
