Cost of college went up for all students at Southeast Arkansas College

In-state tuition and fees rose 11.4 percent for 2018-19 at Southeast Arkansas College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Arkansas residents paid $3,855 to attend the two-year public institution this year – $375 more than the $3,480 charged for 2017-18.

Non-resident students would have paid 74.7 percent more than residents this year, or $6,735. Non-resident tuition and fees grew 7.2 percent from $6,280 in 2017-18.

100 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Arkansas residents.

Data shows 95 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 154 students received grants or scholarships totaling $1 million and 106 students took out student loans totaling more than $328,819.

Including all undergraduates (1,119), 1,093 students used grants or scholarships totaling $5.2 million, and 659 students took out $2.5 million in federal student loans.
