PINE BLUFF AT ARKANSAS: Indigo Blue Coffeehouse, Black History Month Events to be held on February 28, 2020

Pine Bluff at Arkansas recently issued the following announcement.

When: Friday, February 28 @ 1:15 PM

FREE and open to the Public! Every Thursday come join the discussion on the history of African Americans in Pine Bluff from the 1500's to 1970's.  

Week 2: February 13, 2020 is Peril and Paradise- Race, Self Determination, and the Growth of Black Leadersip in Pine Bluff covering 1820 to 1915. 

Week 3: February 20, 2020 is Losing Ground and Gaining Steam: Social, Political and Economic Shifts that impacted African Americans; and the Growth of Back Farms and the Black Middle Class in Pine Bluff (1915-1940).

Week 4: February 27, 2020 Pine Bluff's African Americans Progressive Leaders and How They Impacted Policies in the state and throughout the South (1940-1970).

There is a Part 2 that takes place on the following Tuesday after each week in the series, (Feb 18, 25 and March 3) 5:30-7:30 PM that includes Talking Circle-Oral History, Photos, & documents.
