Lakeside United Methodist Church issued the following announcement on Feb. 15.

Jesus’ is the Temple Because He is Where Heaven and Earth Meet

Sermon Series: Oh, Yeah! That’s Me!

Sermon: The Place Where Heaven and Earth Meet

Scripture: John 2:13-22

Speaker: Rev. Dan Wunderlich

Today we might sing the familiar words: “The Church is not a building, the Church is not a steeple… the Church is a people.” But at one time, the Temple *was* a building, and that building mattered. So, how did we get from there to here? From then to now?

Sermon Series Description: Unlike the other three Gospels, which are jam-packed with lots of little stories, John gives us fewer stories in more detail. He intentionally curates his collection to prove a specific point: Jesus is the Messiah and through believing in him we have life. Early in his Gospel, John works toward this by showing us that Jesus is the truth that four important symbols point to.
