As part of our commitment to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, Lowe Delta News has submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. The request seeks detailed information concerning Chinese National students currently enrolled at the university.
The specific records requested include:
1. Documents or lists identifying all current students who are Chinese Nationals, along with their respective departments of study. If this information is protected, we have asked for the total number of such students and a breakdown by department.
2. Information on scholarships awarded to these students, including the amount and source of each scholarship.
3. Details about any scholarships provided by grantors affiliated with the Chinese Scholarship Council that may not be covered in the previous request.
4. Policies or procedures outlining how the university monitors students, including Chinese Nationals, to safeguard its Intellectual Property and other confidential information.
This request is made on behalf of Lowe Delta News and The Coalition Opposing Governmental Secrecy, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting transparency within governmental institutions. We believe that access to these public records is essential for holding public institutions accountable and ensuring transparency for the public.
