Arkansas City issued the following announcement on April 5.
The Firefighter Reserve Program is established as a pool of competent, well-trained personnel to supplement Fire Department personnel levels at times of extreme emergency.
All Firefighter Reserve applicants must submit a completed Application for Employment. Firefighter Reserve positions are voluntary, unpaid positions.
Firefighter Reserve applicants must meet the following criteria:
Be a citizen of the United States, possess a high school diploma or acceptable equivalent, possess a valid, Kansas Driver’s License and pass a physical agility test.
Candidate must be at least eighteen (18) years of age upon meeting eligibility requirements and must complete both oral interviews as well as background and reference checks
